Sage bookkeeping

Sage Bookkeeping in Austin, TX

Bookkeeping for Austin companies on Sage, handled by the same bookkeeper every month at a flat rate agreed before we start.

  • A flat monthly rate, quoted before we start
  • We work in your Sage file — no migration required
  • Records kept in the state your accountant needs

Growth here tends to add people to a Sage file faster than anyone adds rules to it. A company that hired quickly, a food business that went from one site to three, a contractor now managing subcontractors — and four or five people all entering transactions with no agreed convention between them.

What's included

What our service covers in Austin

Everything below is part of the engagement — no surprise add-ons.

Transaction coding

Every line categorized against a chart of accounts built around how your Austin business actually earns and spends, coded the same way each month so comparisons hold.

Supplier and customer ledgers

Aged payables and receivables kept current, so what you are owed and what you owe are numbers you can act on rather than estimates.

Bank and card reconciliation

Each account matched to the statement monthly, with differences investigated and explained rather than quietly absorbed into a suspense account.

Monthly close

Balances checked against source documents, control accounts cleared and statements confirmed to tie before anything reaches you.

Cleanup and catch-up

If the Sage file has drifted or you are months behind, we quote that separately as one-time work so it never holds up the monthly service.

How it runs

What happens after you get in touch

Only the first step needs anything from you.

1

Tell us what you are running

A short call covering which Sage product you use, your Austin transaction volume and how many accounts are involved. You get a flat monthly rate on that call.

2

We pick up the file

Access is set up, the chart of accounts is reviewed and tidied where it needs it, and we agree what belongs in your monthly pack. Usually about a week.

3

It runs monthly

Transactions are coded as they arrive, ledgers reconcile each month, and your reports land on schedule. When something needs a decision, your bookkeeper calls.

Why us

Why Austin businesses choose Feather Accounting

Records kept accountant-ready all year
You keep Sage — we do not require a move to QuickBooks
Flat monthly rate rather than an hourly meter
Month to month, with no long-term contract
Reconciliation differences investigated, not absorbed
Good fit

This is a good fit if…

  • Your ledgers have drifted from what the bank actually says
  • You want the same bookkeeper every month, not a rotating team
  • You want records your accountant can use without a cleanup first
  • You are months behind and want a plan rather than a lecture

Several hands, no shared convention

Sage will happily let two people code the same kind of cost to two different accounts, and it will let somebody amend a period that was reported to a lender last quarter. Neither is a fault in the software; both are a fault in how it was set up.

The symptom owners notice first is that prior months keep changing. Figures given to somebody externally quietly stop matching the file, and nobody can say when or why.

We settle one convention, reclassify the history to match it, and lock periods once they are reported. The locking matters more than the cleanup, because without it the divergence resumes the week after we finish.

Questions about this service

Anything we have not covered, ask on the call — it is free and there is no follow-up sequence.
