Cleanup & catch-up

Rebuild Years of Backlog in Denver

We scope the real backlog on a free call before quoting, so the fixed fee reflects what is actually there rather than a guess.

  • Every account reconciled, period by period
  • One fixed quote after a free assessment
  • Read-only access — we never move money

Product businesses and construction trades fall behind differently, and both are common locally. A brand loses track of what stock actually cost. A contractor loses track of which job absorbed which material. Both end up with a profit figure nobody trusts and no obvious place to start.

What's included

What our service covers in Denver

Everything below is part of the engagement — no surprise add-ons.

Loan and interest split

Loan payments booked as a single expense are separated into principal and interest, so the balance sheet and the profit figure both become true.

Documented change log

Every correction recorded — what it was, what it became and why — so amended returns are defensible later.

Handover documentation

You get the change log, the decisions that needed judgement and the open items we could not resolve without you.

Period-by-period reconciliation

Every bank account, credit card and processor is reconciled for each period, which is where the real errors surface.

Missing period reconstruction

Where months are simply absent, we rebuild them from bank, card and processor statements rather than leaving a gap in the ledger.

How it runs

What happens after you get in touch

Only the first step needs anything from you.

1

Free assessment call

We look at the file together and establish the real scope — months behind, accounts involved, condition of the records. No judgment.

2

One fixed quote

A single flat fee for the whole project before any work starts. It does not move unless you ask us to expand the scope.

3

We rebuild, then hand over

The backlog is reconstructed period by period, reconciled and documented. At the end you get corrected statements, the change log and a file your CPA can work from.

Why us

Why Denver businesses choose Feather Accounting

Plain-English explanations of what the restated numbers mean
Errors that matter surfaced, not averaged away
A change log that makes an amended return defensible
Honest advice when the records genuinely cannot be recovered
One fixed fee for the whole project, agreed before we start
Good fit

This is a good fit if…

  • You have filed on estimates you are not confident in
  • You are anywhere from three months to several years behind
  • Growth outpaced the admin and the books fell behind
  • Bookkeeping stopped when the person doing it left

Recovering the cost picture

For a product business the central task is rebuilding cost of goods. If stock has been expensed on purchase throughout the backlog, monthly profit is meaningless and has to be restated before anything else is worth reading.

For a contractor it is job attribution, working backwards from supplier statements to the sites that consumed the material.

In both cases we restate the whole backlog on one basis rather than correcting from the point we arrived, because a period that changes treatment halfway through cannot be compared with anything, including itself.
